Grace N. ★★★★★

Swapping these in makes the retail board look flat by comparison — the ship minis and resource tokens have real weight to them now. You do need the base game already, since this is just the upgrade pieces. Worth it if you play often.

Samuel M. ★★★★☆

The upgraded tokens feel noticeably heavier in hand than the cardboard ones, which makes tracking resources way less fiddly during long sessions. Only gripe is that a couple of the ship minis had slightly bent fins out of the box, but they straightened out fine with a little warm water.

Riley ★★★☆☆

The upgraded tokens feel nice in hand, but you still need the retail edition to actually play, which wasn't obvious to me at first. For the price I expected a bit more coverage in the kit.
