Arkham Horror RPG - The Thompson Files

The handouts and in-world documents scattered through this book make prepping a session so much easier—I just read a few entries and the whole scenario writes itself. My players actually got invested in the lore for once instead of just rolling dice.

The bestiary being written as Mandy Thompson's actual research notes makes it so much easier to drop into a session than a standard monster list. My players spent twenty minutes just reading the entries for the flavor alone, which never happens at my table.

The 96-page hardcover feels solid and the in-world bestiary format is a nice change from stat blocks. My only gripe is that a few entries left me wanting more mechanical detail for running them at the table.
