Alessandra Zorzi is such a fun protagonist to follow, and the way she outsmarts both old and new enemies kept me turning pages way past bedtime. The summoning plot gets genuinely creepy in the last third, which is exactly what I want from this world.
The noir atmosphere in this Arkham Horror tie-in is thick enough to cut with a knife, and the summoning plot kept me turning pages way past midnight. Countess Zorzi outwitting her rivals was the highlight for me.
The Countess's heists in this one had me turning pages way past midnight, and the noir atmosphere genuinely seeps into every scene. Pacing drags a touch in the middle chapters, but the summoning finale more than makes up for it.
